Catching up with Rising Tide

Disability Solutions consultants Chris Simler and Brianne Lott recently made a trip down to Rising Tide Car Wash in Parkland, FL. The company was profiled on our blog last year because of their progressive approach to hiring candidates that fall on the autistic spectrum. Rising Tide continues to provide first-class car wash services to customers and provides adults, that fall on the autism spectrum, with meaningful employment.

Rising Tide believes that people with autism are great employees with superior attention to detail and a strong work ethic. So while this enterprise brings awareness to an underserved population, the employees also are the best candidates for the job.

Consultant Brianne Lott confirms “Rising Tide has shown that hiring individuals with disabilities, in this case those who fall on the autism spectrum, makes good business sense. The employee retention rate is much higher than that at traditional car washes and the company is not only making a positive social impact, but it is also making a profit.”

Companies like Rising Tide remind us every day that we can take notice and make a difference in the lives of the people in our community. The founder John D’Eri started this business because he wanted his son Andrew, who is autistic, to be self-sufficient and live a full life. Now, not only does his son have an opportunity for employment but the car wash employs 92 associates with autism. We, as consumers, can do something simple like getting our car washed and, at the same time, be able to give back to a group of individuals that have statistically faced an unemployment rate of 90%.

So, if you live in the Parkland, FL area, be sure to stop by Rising Tide Car Wash at 7201 N. State Rd 7, Parkland, FL 33067 any day between 8am-7pm!
